* Prom Dress Alterations (Formal Dresses)

Why do I need to have my Prom Dress Altered?

  • Consider the length of the gown.
  • Most Prom Dresses are now MADE IN CHINA.
  • Chinese factories make dresses to fit a person who is 5′ 9″
  • Unless you are 5′ 9″ tall, you will need to have your HEM altered for the dress to properly fit in length.
  • If you are taller than 5′ 9″, you need a special ordered longer dress.
I’ve been altering Prom Dresses for 30 years.
Over the years, I’ve altered hundreds of Prom Dresses. Many of these young ladies have then come back for Bridemaids Dresses, and their Wedding Gowns.
Removing the Train on a Sherry Hill gown. Trains are pretty to look at, but you can’t dance with a Train.
It looks GOOD at the final fitting.
It looks GREAT at the Prom. (Notice the Bow Tie. It’s made from a cutting of the Hem.)
